AFRICAN CICHLIDS

African Cichlids have a great reputation of being extremely hardy due to their aggressive nature. We have so many clients switch over to the African Cichlids  for the following reasons:

• African Cichlids are descendants of saltwater fish giving them bright, vibrant colors just like saltwater fish and far less expensive.

• African Cichlids due to their hardiness don't have a tendency to "breakdown" like other fish and have been known to handle extreme water conditions.

• African Cichlids are easily bred in captivity and most stores that carry African Cichlids may accept your babies once they reach a certain size.

• African Cichlids are found densely populated in the wild and with proper filtration and optimum water quality this can be achieved.

• African Cichlids thrive perfectly in Peterborough tap water and even well water with proper water conditioner.

• African Cichlids do very well with proper flake food mixed with a pellet food. This works great with automatic fish feeders for when you go out of town.

• Some species of African Cichlids such as "shell dwellers" do great in aquariums as small as 10 gallons.
